Caring For Your Sign

Your sign will look best when it is cared for properly. Wash your sign gently a couple times a year using a sponge and some mild soap. Avoid hard rubbing as this may damage the paint surface.

Never Touch or Rub Gilding

Gold leaf will be damaged if you rub it. If the gold letters need to be cleaned, try washing them with cold Law Offices Signwater. A garden hose will work the best. If there is still dirt, wipe it gently with a wet soft cloth or sponge using little or no pressure, and then rinse off the sign.

On new signs, the paint and gold leaf take several weeks to reach full hardness. The gold scratches very easily and shouldn't be touched. If for some reason the gold gets scratched and you feel it needs cleaning or repair, call us and we can offer advice.
